Asian Restaurants with Design Appeal

Sometimes the simplest names say the most. If you have been to Yellow you will understand. Vienna architects BEHF have given this Asian restaurant a cool and thoroughly stylish two-tone interior...

Hip pub Yellow

The bar is dark grey while the rest of the restaurant is a vibrant yellow . The only exceptions are the lavatories and the “Special Room”, where you can enjoy the Vietnamese and Thai specialities in a reclining position. Both are finished in a mellow red.

BEHF was awarded the contract to design the premises since the manager of Yellow had liked another Asian restaurant - Yume. Yume is a Japanese restaurant in the 14th district that arouses your curiosity while you are still outside. The glass front is almost completely blacked out with only a thin band affording passers-by a glimpse into the restaurant where there is space for around 70 guests to enjoy sushi and other Japanese specialities. Yume also boasts a feature of interest to those with a passion for the far eastern way of life. Tatami, a small room located behind the restaurant, is used for traditional Japanese tea ceremonies and the like.

Tea ceremonies are not on the menu at the mini-chain Mr. Lee . The latest outlet is be found on the Ring boulevard opposite the university. It is popular thanks to its simple elegance and great value, quality dishes (sushi, noodles and barbecue food). And the Burgtheater, Parliament, Hofburg and many more major sights are just a stone’s throw away.
