At one time, the “gasometers” served as giant gas containers on the outskirts of the city. Today they are an architectonically fascinating apartment complex with an impressive shopping mall, an event hall frequented by international rock stars – all only a few minutes from the center of the city by underground (U3, Gasometer station).
