Walk of Stars

At one time, the “gasometers” served as giant gas containers on the outskirts of the city. Today they are an architectonically fascinating apartment complex with an impressive shopping mall, an event hall frequented by international rock stars – all only a few minutes from the center of the city by underground (U3, Gasometer station).

Once there, you find a steadily growing Walk of Stars, on which – following the example of Hollywood – artists from pop, rock, punk, jazz, blues, folk music and box office hits have imprinted their handprints and footprints. Among them one finds the Vienna Art Orchestra, Naturally 7, Dr. Kurt Ostbahn, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Deep Purple, Vonda Shepard, Boney M., Racey, Slade, Jamie Cullum, Alice Cooper and Suzi Quatro.
