The World Wine Festival will be held for the fourth time in 2012 in the noble rooms of Palais Coburg, and around 60 leading vineyards from around the world are expected to be represented. The heart of the festival is the Wine Forum held in the Kasematten of Palais Coburg. More than 250 exclusive wines can be sampled here over three days. Also on the program of the World Wine Festival are master classes with specialists on topics such as Spain's wine culture, Burgundy and the flavor of the terroir.

There is also an abundance of culinary delights to enjoy at the World Wine Festival. The interaction of fine wines or champagne and fine food can be experienced at the exclusive gala evenings. The highpoint is the "Grande Soirée: Baron Philippe de Rothschild" in the Mirrored Room of Palais Coburg. Evening dinners will also be held in the Palais Coburg's own Silvio Nickol gourmet restaurant and in the restaurants Steirereck, Artner am Franziskanerplatz and Anna Sacher. On the final evening (17 March), the famous 3-star chef Juan Amador will cook together with Silvio Nickol and Nenad Mlinarevic.

In addition to the Baron Philippe de Rothschild estate, other prominent wineries will also be guests at this event: Olivier Bernstein (Burgundy), Terroir al Limit (Spain), Dr. Loosen (Germany), Au Bon Climat (USA), Clarendon Hills (Australia) are just a few examples. Austria is represented with seven vineyards.
