A whole new city district is arising on 109 hectares of land, which will be as large as Vienna's eighth district. Besides the hyper-modern railway station, which is being developed into an international transport hub, 5,000 apartments for 13,000 people as well as office buildings and workplaces for 20,000 people are being built.
The 66.64 meter-tall viewing tower "bahnorama" offers a perfect view of the entire site and gives an insight into how construction is progressing. The 47 square meter viewing platform at a height of 40.62 meters can be reached with two panoramic lifts and offers an impressive view - of the station construction site and of the city. On a total of 1,084 square meters and three levels, the site also houses a multimedia exhibition, which provides information on the mammoth project, a 3D simulated flight over the project area, and a café.
