Designing public spaces

A new knowledge platform has opened its doors at Karlsplatz. The furniture on display by Vienna design studio walking-chair is as thought-provoking as the topic itself.

Since June visitors can view and try out designer municipal furniture at Vienna's Karlsplatz. Vienna design studio walking-chair has come up with a new knowledge platform for public spaces - communications furniture for the Vienna Knowledge Space. The new furniture, created by walking-chair designers Fidel Peugeot and Karl Emilio Pircher in partnership with Danish creativity and knowledge platform Lynfabrikken, is presented under the name "You may".

The Vienna Knowledge Space is a novel platform which promotes public interaction with knowledge, science and innovation. Exhibitions, presentations, discussions and creative and intellectual exercises encourage visitors to explore the topic while considering new educational approaches. The covered Vienna Knowledge Space is open at Karlsplatz until October 31, 2009. Entry is free.
