The exhibition traces the career of the German photographer Herbert List (1903-1975). On view are shots of Greece and the city of Munich destroyed by the Second World War. Also on display are male nudes, portraits of artists and photo essays . The interplay of light and shade became List's creative characteristic.
List staged antique statues and the bodies of young men with sensuality and eroticism. In the 1950s, he ultimately produced sensitive portraits of important artists, such as Pablo Picasso and George Braque .
