Wagner's Court Pavilion in Hietzing

In the course of construction of the Stadtbahn system, Otto Wagner built a "Pavilion of the Most Exalted Imperial and Royal Court" for the exclusive use of the Emperor and the Court near the Hietzing station in 1898 and 1899.

Hietzing Court Pavilion

The central octagonal waiting room features exquisitely decorated walls and a painting by Carl Moll, a bird's-eye view of Vienna. The staircases to the platforms were removed in 1961; today the pavilion is a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Vienna.
