Walking along the outer walls of the Imperial Palace, we are separated by a cast-iron fence from the magnificent Ring Boulevard, built between 1858 and 1865 under Emperor Franz Joseph I in place of the old city bastions. A short time later, we find ourselves on Heldenplatz, which we cross in the direction of the Inner Courtyard of the palace.
This is where we find the entrance to the Imperial State Apartments and the Silver Depot. In the State Rooms of the Imperial Palace, we admire the large audience hall and the private apartments of Emperor Kaiser Franz Joseph I and Sissi: ornate wall decorations, extravagant rococo and especially valuable Empire furniture.
