Taxi in Vienna

Radio taxi: 31 300, 40 100, 60 160. The fare is shown on officially calibrated taximeters. The starting rate during the day is 2.50 €; at night (11:00 pm – 6:00 am) and on Sundays and public holidays 2.60 €, surcharge for radio taxis: 2.-- €. With the Vienna Card, you can go further... This discount card at a price of 18.50 € offers 72 hours of free use of the underground, streetcars, and buses as well as more than 200 discounts at museums, sightseeing attractions, and shops as well as in cafés and restaurants.

Public Transportation

To visit Vienna’s sights individually and discover the city, it is best to use public transportation: underground, streetcar, bus and city train. Vienna offers a very good transportation network and cheap tickets (1.70 Euro for a single ride if the ticket is bought ahead of time, 2.20 Euro for a single ride when bought on the vehicle itself). Free Public Transportation for Young People

Non-Austrian children up to 15 years (with ID!) and Austrian students up to 19 years (with school ID!) ride free during the Vienna school vacations as well as on all Sundays and public holidays. Outside of these times: children (6 to 15 years) can ride with a half-price ticket 0.90 € when bought ahead of time (tobacconists, vending machine in underground stations, 4-ride ticket: 3.40 €, 2-ride ticket: 1.70 €) or 1.10 Euro when bought on the vehicle itself.

Parking in Vienna & Limited Parking Zones

The old city of Vienna and its surrounding districts (districts 1 through 9 and 20) are limited parking zones subject to charges. The area around the Vienna Stadthalle is also a limited parking zone every day from 6:00 – 1:00 pm (Exception: July and August).
In these limited parking zones you need – from the first minute of parking – a parking slip behind the windshield. Limited parking zones are only labeled when entering the respective district. In shopping streets days of validity and duration of parking may vary: Please pay attention to the respective signs.
