City Airport Train

From the Airport to the City Center

To get from the Vienna Airport at Schwechat, located outside the city limits, to the city center, you can choose from the City Airport Train, an Airport Express bus, the Schnellbahn (City Train), the Vienna Airport Service, or a taxi.

The City Airport Train  Vienna-Card leaves every half hour from the city center (Landstrasse/Wien Mitte) and the airport – the ride lasts 16 minutes (single ride 10 Euro, round trip 18 Euro, with the The Vienna Card 7.50 Euro instead of 10 Euro ). It is possible to check in and receive one’s boarding pass at Wien Mitte (3, Invalidenstrasse / Marxer Brücke) on a specially designated City Airport Train track. With the Airport City Train (Schnellbahn) S 7 and S 8 you enjoy special discounts with the  Vienna-Card or with another ticket of the Vienna Transportation Authorities. For your ride to and from the airport, you need only buy an additional “Aussenzonen” (outer zone) ticket for 2.20 Euro (1.80 Euro if bought in advance) and have it punched before entering the train. Without the Vienna Card, you need to pay two zones (4.40 Euro, or 3.60 Euro if bought in advance).

Please make sure that the train in the direction of the airport shows either the sign "Wolfsthal" or "Flughafen." From the airport to the center of Vienna, you should choose train with signs "Wien Mitte," "Wien Nord" or "Floridsdorf."

Bratislava Airport

Bratislava Airport is 65 km from the centre of Vienna. The direct train from Bratislava Central Station to Vienna Südbahnhof (Ostbahn) runs almost hourly from 7.50 am to 11.50 pm. Bus line 61 plies the route from Bratislava Airport to the Central Station every 15-20 minutes from 5.00 am to 11.00 pm.
The buses of Ö BB-Postbus GmbH, Eurolines, and Terravision bring you from Bratislava Airport to Vienna. This buses run either to Südtiroler Platz (U1), to Vienna-Erdberg (U3), or to Vienna Schwechat Airport. The exact timetables and prices can be found on the following websites:
