Subway at night in front of Danube City

By subway through the night

Since 3 September 2010, Vienna’s subways run throughout the night on Friday and Saturday as well as on the eve of public holidays.

All 5 of Vienna's subway lines are now available around the clock for night-owls on weekends and the eve of public holidays. The subway trains ply the entire Vienna network at 15-minute intervals and considerably shorten night-time travel times.

The network of night buses on weekends has been matched to the all-night subway service and they continue to run every 30 minutes. The night bus network is unchanged on weekdays.

The police and employees of the Wiener Linien also provide security on board subway trains during night-time operations. Furthermore, mostly video monitored and open-compartment subway trains will be used.

You can use the night-time subway and night buses with all tickets issued by the Wiener Linien and, of course, with the Vienna-Card.
