Citybike Vienna

The Citybike is a public bike rental system that allows you to visit Vienna’s sights by bicycle at your convenience.

The Citybikes may be rented out and returned at any of the public rental stations in Vienna. Information about how many bicycles are available at which stations can be obtained at the terminals and on the Internet.

Locations

There are about 80 stations that are usually located near subway stations or other public transportation.

Registration

On the Internet at www.citybikewien.at or directly at the Citybike Terminal with a credit card (Master Card, Visa, JCB) or a Maestro Card (debit card) by an Austrian bank. One-time registration fee: 1 euro

Rental charges

The duration of the rental starts with the removal of a Citybike from the bike box and ends when the Citybike is returned to a bike box.

  • 1st hour: free
  • 2nd hour 1 euro per started hour
  • 3rd hour: 2 euros per started hour
  • From the 4th hour - 120th hour: 4 euros for each started hour

Flat fee for exceeding the hours: 600 euros

Loss: If the bicycle is lost, the renter is liable for the value of the Citybike in the amount of 600 euros.

Citybike Tourist Card

With the Citybike Tourist Card, tourists in Vienna can use the service even without an Austrian debit card or credit card. The Citybike Tourist Card can be rented and returned on a daily basis at one of the following stations:

  • Royal Tours, 1st district, Herrengasse 1-3, daily 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1 - 6 p.m.
  • Pedal Power, 2nd district, Ausstellungsstrasse 3, March 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April, October 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., May to September 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The Citybike Tourist Card is also available at many hotels in Vienna. Only one bicycle can be rented at a time per Citybike Tourist Card.

Borrowing charge: 2 euros per day.
