Heuer on Karlsplatz
The restaurant “Heuer” is located right in the heart of Vienna, surrounded by a beautiful garden and a large terrace. The building on Karlsplatz is shared with the Kunsthalle Wien. Green leather benches and Thonet chairs provide a cozy ambience in the cool glass structure. The bar is a central element in this the popular trendy meeting place.
A particular eye-catcher is the array of giant preserving jars that decorate the entire rear wall of the restaurant. The preserving jars are not only for decoration, but also a storage feature for the kitchen. Pickled fruit, preserved vegetables, and home-made syrup find their way into the food and drinks. The menu includes, for example, really great "shrubs", which are refreshing vinegar-based drinks. The cuisine focuses on regional dishes. High-quality ingredients from local producers are used to create delicious dishes that put the product in the limelight. A menu with small dishes invites diners to share and taste a variety of delicacies one after another. These are of course accompanied by exquisite natural wines.
“It’s important to us to create an inclusive, accessible dining venue where guests feel comfortable, know that we offer good food with no frills, excellent wines and simply a positive and relaxed atmosphere. We are lucky that we can operate in our own little unique oasis in the heart of Vienna, which has turned out to be a real treasure for us,” say the Heuer’s management duo.
In the evenings, Heuer also serves fantastic cocktails and offers space for events. Next to the restaurant is the KarlsGarten, a show and research garden that is open to the public and run independently of the restaurant.
