Restaurant "Die Liebe"
The way to someone’s heart is through the stomach, the saying goes. The restaurant "Die Liebe" ("love") in the new indoor market hall "Marktwirtschaft" ("market economy") does justice to this saying. Surrounded by market stands, the cooking at Die Liebe is truly exciting and delicious. The ingredients come from the specialty vendors at Marktwirtschaft whenever possible. A market breakfast, for example, includes sausage from the Dormayer butchershop and bread baked by Gragger in a wood-fired oven.
A world trip in small bites
Two different menus are available for lunch and tapas are offered in the evenings. The small dishes served at Marktwirtschaft are superb. At prices ranging mostly from 5 to 6 Euros, visitors can sample treats such as corn dogs (with Dormayer’s award-winning blood sausage), Japanese dough balls filled with octopus (takoyaki) and fantastic vegetarian bites.
Equally excellent is the drink menu with selected craft beers, wines from organic to natural, inventive cocktails and soft drinks. The ginger beer is also made in-house and those who aren’t adventurous enough for a soft drink with raspberry / red beet / vinegar / horseradish are really missing out.
In the evenings DJs play their favourite tunes at Marktwirtschaft, which is also open for shopping on Sundays. Cheese, meat, bread, vegetables, fruit, beer, coffee and plenty of other specialties can be bought at the market stands. Coffee is available as early as 8 a.m. A large and beautifully arranged courtyard will be added in the summer.
