Chelsea

The long-running scene club is not only one of the oldest on Vienna's Gürtel, but also one of the biggest. While Rhiz, B72 and others are housed in one or two U-Bahn arches, Chelsea fills three interconnected arches. Separated by doors as required, normal bar operations and concerts can also be accommodated on a single evening. Two of the arches have tables, chairs and video projectors with screens for football or concert broadcasts. The third room can be viewed well from the club and has space in front of the stage for a large dance floor. In the warmer months, people can also take a seat in the sidewalk café right outside the club. The music program includes numerous concerts and everything of stature on the alternative guitar and pop scene has often guest starred at Chelsea.

The DJ evenings are varied, from electronic to chillout to stroppy punk. Also worth mentioning is the large selection of beers - especially the British beers and ales. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial and even demanding football fans will have a great time at Chelsea. That's probably because the owner was once a professional footballer himself and has decorated his club accordingly.
