Colorful mix of shopping

Colorfully mixed shops - from fashion to furniture and cuisine - invite you to go shopping on Schleifmühlgasse. The first stop when approaching from Naschmarkt itself is the Szigeti-Sektcomptoir. The sparkling wine is sampled in the bar, the full Szigeti pallet and products related to sparkling wine can also be purchased. At the other end of Schleifmühlgasse is another shop offering the noble bubbly: Perlage, on the corner of Wiedner Hauptstrasse, stocks around 80 different types of champagne.

For fashionistas, Pregenzer Fashionstore is the first port of call on Schleifmühlgasse. In this purist shop, Jutta Pregenzer sells not only her personally designed collections, but also international fashion labels. Great fashion with a focus on Scandinavian labels is offered by the boutique Siebentage. A tip for individualists. Flo Vintage is also worth a visit. This shop, which is known far beyond the borders of Austria, offers visitors fashion spanning a hundred years; even top international designers like to come here for inspiration. And sophisticated footwear can also be found on Schleifmühlgasse – in the store of the Austrian label rosa mosa, where an old craft is given a modern interpretation. The shoes and accessories are mostly produced directly on site in the workshop. In 2023, the label was awarded the Outstanding Artist Award for experimental fashion design, the Austrian State Prize for Fashion.

Schleifmühlgasse also offers chic furniture design. Rauminhalt specializes in vintage furniture. Items that can be purchased here include the famous Stadthallen chairs, which were designed by architect Roland Rainer in 1952. Mood on the other hand offers contemporary furniture design - from Artemide to Vitra. Design of a somewhat different nature - namely recycling design - is sold at Gabarage, where furniture, lamps, bags and jewelry are created from old and discarded objects.

Hobby and professional chefs like to drop by Babette's. In this cookbook paradise, have a browse over coffee and cake and create interesting mixes of herbs and spices. Also a paradise, in this case for fans of flowers, is Blumenkraft. Flowers and plants are presented here extremely artistically.

Tip: The restaurant scene on Schleifmühlgasse also has something to offer.
