Screen in a cinema

Vienna Shorts film festival

At the beginning of June, the Vienna Shorts - Austria's biggest short film festival - presents around 300 Austrian and international film productions again this year under the title "Trust Me". Each film has a maximum length of 30 minutes. The four competition categories include 101 films from 33 countries. Waiting for the winners are three spots on the Oscar® long list, because the Vienna Shorts have been an Oscar® qualifying festival since last year.

International prize-winning short films can be see at the festival, such as this year's Berlinale winner "Small Town" by Diogo Costa Amarante and the Japanese Sundance winner "And So We Put Goldfish in the Pool", as well as top-class new discoveries.

Music videos and live acts

Music videos followed by live acts will be presented at the screen sessions, including works by Florian Senekowitsch for the Austrian musician Voodoo Jürgens or Martina Trepczyk for Leyya. Among the international works shown are videos by Bill Morrison for Massive Attack, Mr. Oizo and Arca.

"The Rhythm of Vienna" short film competition

The results of the joint short film competition organized by Vienna Shorts and the Vienna Tourist Board can also be seen at this year's festival. The competition on the topic "The Rhythm of Vienna" was held last year and the three winning films have been online since September 2016 at shortfilm.wien.info
