Kultursommer Wien 2021

Vienna Summer of Culture 2022

This summer is going to be good: Austrian artists perform again, the audience can enjoy culture live again. Each week from Thursday to Sunday, Kultursommer Wien 2022 presents the full range of the cultural landscape. The juxtaposition of the various styles and genres is what gives the festival its special character:

electronic, pop, rock and hip-hop, world, jazz, Austropop, Wienerlied and classical, dance, theater and performance, cabaret, readings, poetry slam, contemporary circus and more, plus a children's and youth program. All of this is accommodated under the umbrella of the Kultursommer.

Prater picnic with the Wiener Symphoniker

Spectacular opening concert of Kultursommer Wien 2022: the Kaiserwiese in the Prater becomes the stage for the first Prater picnic of the Wiener Symphoniker. Under the musical direction of Dirk Kaftan, soprano Nikola Hillebrand and baritone Daniel Schmutzhard pay musical homage to Vienna and the Prater. And the two pop singers Lisa Pac and Allegra Tinnefeld perform their songs together with the Wiener Symphoniker – two of the orchestra's musicians are their fathers. So get the picnic blanket out!

TV broadcast: ORF 2 broadcasts the Prater Picnic live (with a time delay) on July 1, 2022, at 8.15 pm.
