Live music in the hotel
Guitars to rent: the three Viennese premises of Ruby Hotels (Ruby Lissy in the 1st district, Ruby Sofie in the 3rd district, and Ruby Marie in the 7th district) have something unusual to offer at the bar: free electric guitar rental. A professional Marshall amplifier is waiting to be plugged into in the room. Rock your room, grab the strings, feel the star in you! Just please have a little consideration for your neighbors!
Rooms with a view of the stage
The name speaks for itself: the Hotel Zeitgeist Vienna is launching a unique cultural initiative called Zeitgeist Window Concerts during the coronavirus restrictions. Finally listening to music pure and offline again. Now you can from the hotel window, as the artists play music live in the green courtyard. The rooms thus become private boxes. The first date on May 30, 2020, was sold out after three days. Two opera singers, accompanied by a few musicians, selected a number of classical hits from Mozart to Strauss. The good news: further concerts in a wide range of genres are planned, like on Saturday, June 27, when "The Men" play R'n'B, soul und hits from Stevie Wonder, James Brown and the Beatles. On July 17 listen to guitar player Siggi Fassl (Blues & Rockabilly). Room service supplies food and drinks, music can really be sensed – so it makes sense to extend your stay over night.
The Boutiquehotel Stadthalle names its concert series of this kind Loge & Logis (Box & Bed). Thomas Gansch gets things off to a musical started with his band Gansch & Roses on May 30, 2020; in the weeks that follow there will be an opera/operetta program, a musical (with Maya Hakvoort, who played the lea role in “Elisabeth”), and blues legend Hans Theessink in the greenest of all Viennese hotel courtyards. The package includes an overnight stay with organic breakfast. Here as well: to be continued. Culture lives.
Press the Bösendorfer key
If you'd like to get musical, you can do so, for example, in the luxurious presidential suite of the Park Hyatt Vienna. With an area of 170 m², it offers space for an elegant Bösendorfer piano. These instruments, made in Austria by hand, are all about the perfect sound. A few minutes' walk away, in the Bösendorfer Salon, you can go shopping for a piano – assuming you've got the right change!
Beethoven at the Bösendorfer: at the (from June 20, 2020, again) weekly salon concerts in the Hotel Beethoven Wien (external guests welcome by appointment!). The Bösendorfer in the Papageno Lounge – with a view of the Papageno Gate of the Theater an der Wien opposite – is owned by the family of the hotel manager, and you're welcome to play it if you like. If you'd like to tickle the ivories at night, then reserve room 506 "Hedy Lamarr": with a high-quality electric Bösendorfer upright piano that plays all the pieces 24 hours a day thanks to the headset connection.
Luxury at Palais Coburg
No fewer than three of Bösendorfer's wondrous instruments can also be found in the elegant Palais Coburg Residenz, in the Marie Antoinette salon. Only don't lose your head with rapture! Johann Strauss was very close friends with the Saxe-Coburg and Gotha family, so music has a long tradition in this palace. Today, there are many concerts, such as the Coburg Matinées in the state rooms. – Included in the stay for hotel guests, but can also be booked by non-residents.
The New Year's Eve package is perhaps one of the most exclusive in the world: it includes four nights in an elegant suite, two of the hotly sought-after tickets for the New Year's Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic at the Musikverein (with limousine service), New Year's Eve gala with 9-course menu and much more besides. Things could hardly be more luxurious.
