A new production of the hit musical Rebecca moves into the Raimund Theater on September 22, 2022.
British thriller as novel, movie, and musical
The story: The new Lady de Winter asserts herself against the overpowering presence of her husband's first wife and reveals her terrifying secret – a British thriller that enchants and fascinates. Alfred Hitchcock himself turned the secretive love story based on the bestseller by Daphne du Maurier into a movie in 1940. And the new production recently released by Netflix was also a success.
Dark secrets and incredible tension
The romantic love story plays in England, in Manderley Castle. It gradually develops into a gripping thriller with many intrigues and dark surprises – breathtakingly staged, with sweeping melodies, lavish props, a large live orchestra and spectacular special effects.
Internationally celebrated musical thriller
Rebecca celebrated its premiere in 2006 at the Raimund Theater – now the musical finally returns to Vienna. The two most successful German-speaking musical writers of all time, Michael Kunze & Sylvester Levay ("Elisabeth", "Mozart!") have created a great masterpiece with Rebecca. Worldwide, the musical has already cast an audience of more than two million under its spell in twelve countries and ten languages.
The spectacular production with magnificent props, stirring melodies, and amazing special effects, grippingly produced by American star director Francesca Zambello, can finally be experienced in Vienna again having made many stops around the world.
