Mozart: "Don Giovanni", Schönbrunn Palace Theater

Mozart opera at Schönbrunn

On 10 evenings from 6 to 28 August, the otherwise rarely used Schönbrunn Palace Theater, Vienna's oldest theater from the Rococo period, will provide the stage for Mozart's Don Giovanni. It is a rare and special pleasure to be able to experience this work in a version for chamber opera in the intimate setting of this little theater. Thanks to air conditioning, there's no need to miss out on culture at the height of summer.

Heartbreaker Don Giovanni

At the center of the opera stands the fascinating and unscrupulous figure of the womanizer Don Giovanni from Seville. Victims or chosen ones are Donna Anna, Donna Elvira and the peasant girl Zerline. Don Giovanni's servant Leporello plays the role of the harlequin.

The first-class musical arrangement is provided by a young ensemble of students from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna together with the professional Schönbrunn Festival Orchestra. Maestro Guido Mancusi, who normally works at the Volksoper Wien, conducts.
