Waves Vienna

From September 26 to 28, the top-class Waves Vienna music festival will take place in the city for the ninth time. With over 100 international acts ranging from alternative and singer-songwriter to electronic and club music, the festival will this year again be focused around Vienna's 9th district. In addition to well-known locations such as the WUK, where the festival's headquarters will be situated, concerts and performances will also be held at more unusual venues.

Numerous live performances

The headliners include RnB singer Iris Gold from Denmark and the American Indie-Rock band Chastity Belt, which takes a humorous look at female themes in its songs. Shortparis, one of Russia's best live bands, is coming to Vienna and will play the finest avant-garde pop at Waves. The charismatic singer-songwriter Dan Mangan from Canada will also perform.

The Austrian music scene is also strongly represented again and offers plenty to be discovered: Friedberg, Good Wilson, On Bells, Those Goddamn Hippies, The Happy Sun and many more besides.

East meets West

This year's guest countries are Sweden and Hungary, and they will be the focus of the festival's live concerts and of the Waves Vienna Conference. The music conference with panels, workshops, networking sessions and speed meetings also takes place at the WUK.
