Party in front of Vienna’s City Hall

Vienna Summerbreak Festival

Young people from all over Europe will also be celebrating the end of summer in Vienna again this year at the Vienna Summerbreak Festival. The party weekend begins on Friday (2 September) with the Nightride promotion organized by Wiener Linien. Night-owls who purchase a Nightride ticket get free admission to around 50 clubs with a range of musical styles. The ticket is also valid for travel on public transport.

Dancing on the Ring and on City Hall Square

From 1.00 pm on the Saturday (3 September), the venerable Ringstrasse between Vienna State Opera and City Hall transforms into the biggest open-air dance floor in Vienna for the Streetparade. Numerous music trucks with DJs and live acts make their way along the magnificent boulevard towards City Hall. Thousands of visitors dance and party for a cosmopolitan and tolerant Vienna. Hot beats from techno and trance to electro and hip hop to disco and reggae resound around the Ring.

The Streetparade reaches its climax on City Hall Square from 4.30 pm - with national and international DJs, who present the finest electronic, house and techno sounds. After-show parties begin at various locations throughout the city from 10.30 pm; the main event is at the Praterdome.

On the Sunday (4 September), the party people meet at 11.00 am for the Techno Brunch on City Hall Square. The Vienna Summerbreak ends at a pool party in the Pratersauna with groovy DJ sounds starting at 2.00 pm.
