Thematic focuses such as “Controversial Cinema?” explore the willingness to engage in discourse within film culture. A program titled “Hatufim / Sordim” is dedicated to the hostages and survivors of October 7, 2023, as well as to the diverse perspectives on Israel within the context of the Middle East. The film selection also sheds light on the Nazi persecution of Jews, this time with a special focus on people with disabilities. In addition, the program “Humor is When You Laugh Anyway” presents international comedies.

Panel discussions on current issues in the Middle East, introductory lectures, and a short film program for emerging filmmakers round out the festival program.
