Tasting Viennese wine

City Hall opens its doors for the Vienna Wine Prize again on June 24. Wine lovers can spend three days tasting the best 150 wines from Vienna in the colonnaded courtyard with free admission. Included are varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Wiener Gemischter Satz, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc, but also red wines such as Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and Cuvée Red.

Culinary delicacies will also be served to accompany the wine tasting. Tasting tickets for a wine sample (1/16) and food vouchers are available from the ticket counter in the Volkshalle.

The Vienna Wine Prize is impressive proof of the quality and dynamism of wine production in Vienna. A total of 145 vintners manage around 700 hectares of vineyards – and all within the city limits.
