Open House: Experience architecture
Normally, around 35,000 architecture fans attend "Open House Vienna" every year in September. – But not this year: due to COVID-19, the architecture education program, in which over 40 cities around the world participate each year, is not being held in its normal "analog" form. In its place, "Open House" provides a virtual alternative on November 14 and 15 on the event's website. The good news: there's more than just notable architecture from Vienna waiting to be discovered. The "Open House Worldwide Festival" presents projects from right around the globe. Visitors can look forward to an extensive film program offering deep insights into worldwide construction activity. Vienna can be seen in several contributions.
From the Sonnwendviertel to the Nordbahnviertel
The new BOKU seminar center at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences is a visionary timber construction and is presented alongside others such as the assembly project "An den Kohlenrutschen" (By the Coal Chutes) in the Nordbahnviertel district. The integrative district development in Sonnwendviertel East is also a topic. The Aspern multi-story parking structure is an outstanding example in terms of mobility and infrastructure. In addition, there are virtual discussion rounds and panels with Viennese participation.
