Vienna's Danube Canal is normally a scene of active hustle and bustle in the warmer months of the year. With the coronavirus crisis, the closure of food outlets, and the restrictions on going out, life has become much quieter there now.

However, a few things are happening on the walls of the Danube Canal, where graffiti artists spray their colorful pictures. The new way of living in the coronavirus crisis is reflected in the street art artworks: giant coronavirus writings, pictures of the virus, a human machine that instructs you to wash your hands, but also an upbeat "Keep smiling". It remains to be seen how long the graffiti – and the crisis – will last.
