Where the gates are opening

Vienna's sights are world-class places of longing. While we have had to make do with virtual tours in recent weeks, the first institutions, such as Schönbrunn Palace, the House of the Sea and the Danube Tower, are now pawing at the starting blocks. Our anticipation is tremendous. Because highly emotional moments are waiting.

Safety guidelines are in place for the re-opening. When visiting the institutions, it is mandatory to wear nose and mouth protection. What's more, there must be ten square meters of space available per guest, although this calculated on the total area of the attractions. This means that more people than "one person for every ten square meters" may be allowed to be in individual rooms as long as the safe distance of one meter can be kept. Art education programs such as guided tours and workshops are permitted. Up to ten people are allowed to take part.

      Access to all exhibition rooms: no steps. Freight elevator for extra wide wheelchairs: door width: 160 cm, cabin depth: 220 cm, cabin width: 156 cm.

      Visitors' center in the Gardetrakt by the main gate, stepless access, door width: approx. 144 cm, wheelchair-accessible restroom can be reached by wheelchair platform lift – platform 110/140 cm, door width: 90 cm in the corridor area and 94 cm to the outdoors, accessible from outside with a Euro-Key.

      Observation terrace (at 150 m height) wheelchair-accessible via elevator (max. 3 wheelchairs at once). Special ramps (width: 99 cm, height: 25 cm) to allow wheelchair users to enjoy the view over Vienna. According to the building license, wheelchairs are prohibited on all other floors for safety reasons (escape routes). By way of compensation, wheelchair users can ride to the viewing terrace (150 m) for free.

      Central floor (165 m): 25 steps up to the restaurant (170 m), 25 steps down to the café (160 m, not accessible for wheelchair users). Wheelchair users only with escort (1 escort per wheelchair user at no charge). No wheelchair-accessible restroom in the tower.
