Travel through Vienna on motorized soapboxes
To take part in the trip around the city you must have a valid driving license, be aged 18 or over and have a 0.0% blood alcohol content. The motorized soapboxes use nearly 14 horsepower to propel you to a top speed of 88 km/h (which you would not, of course, be allowed to do in the city). After a short orientation (gas and brake pedals, reverse gear, handbrake and indicators) you will be set to go. A crash helmet for the journey will be provided. Fully comprehensive insurance cover is included in the price.
The route goes around the Ringstrasse, past the major tourist sights and through the Prater with a view of the Giant Ferris Wheel and then over the Danube to the Vienna International Centre. The daytime tour, which begins daily at 10.00 am, 12.00 noon, 2.00 pm, 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm, lasts two hours and costs €99. The two-hour moonlight tour begins every evening at 8.00 pm and costs €119. On this tour you will be able not only to experience Vienna at night, but also make a stop at the Danube (including a small surprise!). Individual tours are available upon request. Every tour is accompanied by at least one guide, which you are linked to via headphones.
If you would prefer to be incognito in Vienna then this tour is admittedly not for you. At every red light, pedestrians and drivers alike will pull out their cell phones and take photos of the unusual vehicles.
