Two weeks, more than 30 events and around a million visitors: EuroPride, which takes place for the second time from June 1 to 16, 2019, will once again prove how LGBT-friendly the whole city and its people are. On the program is a wide range of events – from parties and sports events to conferences, all of which deal with the equality of LGBT people. After all, 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the riots at New York's trendy "Stonewall Inn", which kick-started the fight for equality. The highlight of EuroPride is the Rainbow Parade, which takes place along the world's most beautiful boulevard, the Ringstrasse, on June 15, 2019.
A packed program in front of an idyllic backdrop in one of the most beautiful cities awaits visitors. Vienna is not only the most livable city on earth. In 2018, it was also selected "Destination of the Year" at the Australian LGBTI Awards, and best international destination by GayTravel.com, one of the world's biggest LGBT travel platforms.
Away from EuroPride, Vienna also has something to offer the LGBT community: gay monarchs, cool locations and fantastic parties. An episode of our series VIENNA/NOW deals will everything to do with LGBT Vienna – from the bookstore for the community to the historical gay sauna "Kaiserbründl" and the Boylesque show.
