Jewish Museum

The Jewish Museum in Palais Eskeles welcomes its visitors with a light installation by the artist Brigitte Kowanz on the façade and a spacious entrance area, which has been faithfully recreated. The permanent exhibitions in the Jewish Museum are distributed over three areas: the Display Depot presents collections and the collectors behind them, such as Max Berger. The Studio is a workshop and exhibition space for ritual everyday objects in one.

Since 2013, the permanent exhibition "Our City!" has provided a comprehensive insight into Jewish life, the history of Jewish Vienna and leads from the present day into the past. The journey begins on the ground floor with the years spanning 1945 to today. On the second floor of Palais Eskeles, visitors experience Jewish history from its beginnings to the years 1938/1945. A 3D animation provides virtual access to Vienna's synagogues destroyed in 1938.

Exciting temporary exhibitions and numerous events are also held in the Jewish Museum. Café Eskeles is located on the ground floor.

The Museum Judenplatz with its Holocaust memorial is also part of the Jewish Museum and worth a visit. The ticket grants admission to both locations.
