Yin Yang and Yoga

Yoga practitioners don't have to go with without their favorite sport when on vacation in Vienna. Extraordinary locations make yoga in Vienna a real experience.

Relaxation throws a kiss

Who hasn't dreamed of enjoying Gustav Klimt's Kiss or Egon Schiele's masterpieces in peace and quiet? Bel Silenzio makes this dream come true: four evening meditation sessions are offered in the Marble Hall of the Upper Belvedere twice a month. After meditating together, you can stroll around the art collection on your own; the Baroque rooms of the Upper Belvedere are open exclusively to the participants. In the Sala Terrena, there's tea and refreshments to finish with.

Yoga in the Museum?

Only here can you take up the unique opportunity to practice yoga in the ceremonial rooms of the Albertina. Once a month, you're invited to attend the yoga session of MISS YOGA – no prior knowledge required. After the physical training follows the spiritual refreshment: Relaxing to art – for example, with Monet and Picasso, because entry to the exhibitions is included in the price.

The Techno Yoga Brunch combines techno beats, yoga flow and a vegan brunch buffet. This unique yoga session is held on one Saturday in the month in the salon of the Leopold Museum – the ticket includes a yoga session, a vegan & vegetarian brunch in Café Leopold and admission to the Leopold Museum.

Asanas Viennese style

The location could hardly be more Viennese: In a 200 m², wonderfully classical Viennese-style apartment in an old building with stucco and tiled stove, the yogis from Re:Treat create relaxation techniques from the ground up. A lovely ambience, diverse yoga styles, meditation and vegan food are at home here. Particularly popular is the Karma Yoga Brunch, which is held in different studios on a regular basis. First, yoga is practiced, and then everyone eats healthy, vegan food together. There is even more information about this at Vegan in Vienna.

If you're hungry and fancy some splendor, you should definitely try the Yoga lunch at Palais Coburg. MISS YOGA leads a yoga class here, followed by a 2-course lunch in a stylish ambience.

Just give it a go: Open classes, no appointment needed

Many studios even invite you to attend the first class on a trial basis. These "open" classes are specially identified as such on the studio timetables.

Not only yoga newcomers feel good at the two studios of ONE Yoga. At the taster sessions, the yogis go into the background and philosophy, and also answer individual questions. Doktor Yoga offers trial classes for a whole month for a low fixed price. Trials are possible in all classes – from beginner to advanced. You can simply walk into the open sessions of bYoga without an appointment. Apart from modern yoga mainstream, mainly Forrest yoga is practiced here; an intensive, powerful, and therapeutic style of yoga. You can also simply drop by and join in the taster sessions at YogaShala Vienna. The offer concentrates on relaxed and therapeutic Hatha yoga, alignment-based yoga, attention training and meditation.

Ananya Yoga offers the perfect mix of yoga practices such as physical movement (asana), breathing (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana).
