Table tennis

The Table Tennis Center on Langegasse is in the 8th district, just a stone's throw from the Votive Church on the Ringstrasse, ideal for a small round on the go or perhaps a couple of relaxing hours. The crowd is a mix of young and old, often including students and professors from the nearby university, from beginners to advanced players.

At least one of the 13 tables is almost always available, so it's worth just dropping by. EUR 11 per hour lets you rent the table and bats, while (purchased) balls are available for EUR 1 each.

Table tennis as well as badminton, beach volleyball, artificial grass football, street basketball, and table football can be enjoyed at the Sport & Fun Halle Favoriten. There is even a boulder wall for climbing fans. Sports equipment can be rented free of charge upon presentation of an official form of photographic ID.

Training has culture

The sports venue formerly known as the Pritzi-Halle wrote sporting history. It was mentioned as a table tennis salon at the end of the 19th century - when men played in tail-coats! People who played in probably the oldest table tennis hall in the world included not only the Austrian world champion Trude Pritzi, but also a string of successful National League and National Team players, who used the historic rooms for regular training (Werner Schlager - 2003 Table Tennis World Champion (Singles) -, Heinz Schlüter, Rudi Weinmann, Ding Yi, Hans Bolena, ...). A display case presents an assortment of table tennis paraphernalia from all those years ago to marvel at.
