Vienna Major 2018

After the huge success of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship in 2017, the world elite of beach volleyball is returning to the top location of Danube Island in 2018. Vienna will host a 5-star event for first time and bring the best teams onto center court in the Red Bull Beach Arena.

The 2017 World Cup attracted around 180,000 volleyball fans - and this year, at the beginning of August, it will continue with top-class ball sport. The 32 world's best women's and men's beach volleyball teams come from 28 different countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada and the USA. The Austrian vice world champion duo Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst will of course also be present.

World-class sport and party

The preliminary round matches start on several courts on the Wednesday. The women's final is at 5.15 pm on the Saturday; the men go for gold at 5.30 pm on the Sunday. All match dates

In addition to world-class sport on 2,500 tons of sand, the "Beach Village" offers the best entertainment: with a gastronomic enjoyment zone, public screening area and lots of action. After the matches it's time to celebrate with music and DJs - the beach volleyball fans are well-known party people. Room for this is offered by 49,000 m² of event space on Danube Island.

Access and tickets

Access to the event site is essentially free of charge until full capacity is reached. The 8,000 seats in the stadium are available on a first come first served basis. Anyone wanting to have a guaranteed seat (free choice) in a reserved sector for the Medal Matches (Saturday, August 4 or Sunday, August 5) can buy Medal Match tickets in advance. Various VIP ticket categories (Diamond Lounge, Beach Majors Club, Beach Friends Lounge) are also offered.
