I musei di Vienna prevedono offerte adeguate alle esigenze di non vedenti, ipovedenti e non udenti.
Il Museo di Belle Arti ha recentemente messo a punto un'offerta unica al mondo per non vedenti ed ipovedenti. Tre opere d’arte della collezione rinascimentale della Pinacoteca sono state riprodotte in modelli tattili 3D. Sulla base di immagini fotografiche ad altissima risoluzione della "Madonna del Belvedere", della "Madonna col bambino" di Albrecht Dürer e del "Ritratto del buffone Gonella" di Jean Fouquet sono stati realizzati mediante una special tecnica dei rilievi che permette di comprendere la struttura compositiva e numerosi dettagli delle tele. Il Belvedere superiore organizza visite guidate speciali per persone affette da cecità e ipovedenti. Il rilievo tattile dell’opera “Il bacio” di Gustav Klimt così come un modello del dipinto “La famiglia” di Egon Schiele permettono un’esperienza tattile dell’arte.
Su richiesta, il Museo austriaco del Folclore offre un tour per persone cieche e ipovedenti tra le opere più importanti della collezione. I visitatori hanno l'opportuntità di toccare letteralmente con mano alcuni pezzi in legno e ceramica. Anche al Museo romano, nel centro storico di Vienna, si trovano oggetti hands-on per ipovedenti.
All'ingresso principale della Reggia diSchönbrunn è ora esposto un modello in bronzo della residenza estiva degli Asburgo in scala 1:2000. Le persone ipovedenti e non vedenti hanno così la possibilità di comprendere meglio le dimensioni della reggia e della corte antistante. Per persone cieche e ipovedenti vengono offerte anche visite guidate speciali, nel corso delle quali le visitatrici ed i visitatori possono toccare gli oggetti selezionati.
Per le visitatrici e i visitatori sordi, nella Reggia di Schönbrunn, nel Dom Museum Wien e nel Museo romano sono a disposizione guide multimediali nella lingua dei segni austriaca. Nella Reggia di Schönbrunn è inoltre disponibile una guida multimediale nella lingua dei segni internazionale (IS). Su richiesta, una gran parte dei musei viennesi offre anche visite guidate nella lingua dei segni.

The museum is a place of encounter and sensory perception and offers plenty of opportunity to stimulate vistors and motivate them to interact with one another by looking at art together and then getting creative themselves. Induction loop available at the audio guide stand.

The “Dom Museum Wien” app (free download) with detailed descriptions of the permanent exhibition can be used in talk-back or voice-over mode for blind and visually impaired people. The language selection also includes Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS).
Portrait of Rudolf IV and a section of his precious grave cover have been turned into relief presentations with aid of computers and make ideal touching objects.
Accompanying booklets “Simply explained”, designed in large print, are available for free.
Inclusive art education programs are aimed at people with different biographical backgrounds and combine art experience with creative activity in the cathedral studio. The workshop series “So Close to the Center” was developed in cooperation with day centers that care for people with dementia. It evokes memories, discovers newness in art and combines both with the here and now.
