A nivel de accesibilidad e inclusión, el nuevo Wien Museum está completamente al día. El edificio y las exposiciones cuentan con objetos táctiles, textos en braille o letra grande e información en lenguaje sencillo. Los bucles magnéticos y las visitas guiadas en lengua de signos y lenguaje sencillo completan la oferta.
El Kunsthistorische Museum ofrece un servicio especial a escala mundial dirigido a ciegos y personas con discapacidad visual. Las obras maestras de la colección del Renacimiento de la Pinacoteca han sido transformadas en relieves en 3D para que puedan tocarse. Estos relieves, que permiten reconocer mediante el tacto numerosos detalles de la pintura y la estructura misma de la obra, fueron realizados con técnica de fresado, en base a fotografías de alta resolución de la „Madonna en verde" de Rafael, „María con niño" de Alberto Durero y del „Bufón Gonella" de Jean Fouquet, Los visitantes pueden encontrar informaciones adicionales en un folleto en escritura Braille o a través de los llamados "agentes mediadores de arte". El Belvedere Superior organiza visitas guiadas especiales para personas ciegas y con dificultades visuales. Relieves táctiles de El beso de Gustav Klimt, una maqueta del cuadro de Egon Schiele Pareja en cuclillas (La familia) y un busto de Franz Xaver Messerschmidt ofrecen una experiencia artística realmente tangible. El Belvedere también ofrece videoguías en sistema de signos austriaco e internacional.
Personas con discapacidades visuales también pueden percibir mediante el tacto algunas piezas expuestas en el Museo de los Romanos (Römermuseum), situado en el casco histórico de la ciudad. El Dom Museum Wien también ofrece tours táctiles. Destaca un relieve de Rodolfo el Fundador.
En la entrada principal del Palacio de Schönbrunn se ha colocado un modelo en bronce de la residencia estival de los Habsburgo a escala 1:2000. Las personas con discapacidades visuales tendrán así la posibilidad de captar mejor las dimensiones del palacio y del patio de honor que se sitúa al frente. Para personas ciegas y con dificultades visuales se ofrecen también visitas especiales en las que los y las visitantes podrán tocar piezas seleccionadas.
Numerosos museos vieneses ofrecen videoguías en sistema de signos austriaco (ÖGS) e internacional, disponibles a través de dispositivos adicionales o para descargar en el smartphone. La mayoría de los museos de Viena también ofrecen visitas guiadas en lengua de signos.

The “Dom Museum Wien” app (free download) with detailed descriptions of the permanent exhibition can be used in talk-back or voice-over mode for blind and visually impaired people. The language selection also includes Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS). Portrait of Rudolf IV and a section of his precious grave cover have been turned into relief presentations with aid of computers and make ideal touching objects. Accompanying booklets “Simply explained”, designed in large print, are available for free. Inclusive art education programs are aimed at people with different biographical backgrounds and combine art experience with creative activity in the cathedral studio. The workshop series “So Close to the Center” was developed in cooperation with day centers that care for people with dementia. It evokes memories, discovers newness in art and combines both with the here and now.
