In questa casa, Beethoven compose la sua Seconda Sinfonia, i pezzi per pianoforte e le sonate per violino. Nel 1802 scrisse una lettera al fratello - che non fu mai spedita - nella quale dava voce ai suoi dubbi riguardo al peggiorare della sua sordità, è il cosiddetto “Testamento di Heiligenstadt”. Il Museo di Beethoven è dedicato ai 35 anni del maestro viennese - il grande centro Beethoven di Vienna.
