Arte en passant: la Karlsplatz
Questo antico caffè offre un ottimo spunto per fare un intervallo durante la vostra passeggiata all’insegna di Klimt e consumare una merenda. D’estate si può stare seduti persino all’aperto. Alcune delle attrazioni intorno alla Karlsplatz hanno a che fare, direttamente o indirettamente, con Gustav Klimt.
Ad esempio la splendida stazione della Stadtbahn, realizzato dall’architetto Otto Wagner intorno al 1900 per la ferrovia urbana di Vienna, nel quale troverete tutti gli elementi con i quali avete fatto già conoscenza durante la vostra passeggiata alla meta di Klimt: ornamenti floreali, decorazioni in oro, elaborazione accuratissima fin nei minimi dettagli.
Oppure la Künstlerhaus, l’istituzione alla quale Klimt e i suoi amici a suo tempo volsero le spalle.
E il Wien Museum Karlsplatz, in cui si possono vedere alcuni capolavori di Gustav Klimt fra cui i dipinti "Emilie Flöge", "Pallade Atene" e l’opera compiuta in gioventù "Veduta interna del Burgtheater" (1887).
