These terms and conditions of participation apply to prize draws that we hold without the use of a special prize draw app.

Terms and conditions of participation

What can I win?

The prize is indicated in the respective prize draw posting.

The prizes cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. The prizes are not transferable. Booking is subject to availability.

Start and end of the prize draw

The start of the prize competition is the date of publication in our social media channels; the timing of the draw will be indicated separately for each prize draw.

Who can take part?

Users who are at least 18 years of age. Employees of WienTourismus (Vienna Tourist Board) and their relatives are excluded from participating in the prize draw. Automated playing is not allowed.

How will the winners be determined?

Unless indicated otherwise, the winner will be chosen at random. Exceptions will be communicated in the prize draw posting (for example: The picture with the most likes wins, selection of the winner by a jury, etc.). Each participant can only win one prize.

How will the winners be notified?

The winners will be identified and notified immediately after the end of the prize draw. As a rule, we will send the prize by post or – in the case of guest list places or event tickets – by email/private message. Should the prize have to be collected, this will be additionally indicated in the posting.

What will happen to my details?

When you participate in a prize draw, you are consenting to the collection and processing of your personal data for the purposes of organizing and managing the prize draw and notifying you if you win. The provision of the data is required for your participation in the prize draw. We will keep your data on file until the winner has been established. You can withdraw your consent at any time by sending us a message. Your data will then be erased.

If you win, we will process your data (name and address) in order that we can manage your win and so that you can claim your prize; we will erase your data when the statutory retention period of 10 years has expired.

Only if you win will your personal data will be forwarded to the prize draw partner in order that they can manage your prize (airline, hotel, etc.) (see Item Data transfer to a third party)

This prize draw is in no way connected with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media applications, i.e. it is neither sponsored, supported nor administered by any of them.

Additional conditions for photographic competitions

Photo upload

If you are required to submit a photo in order to participate in a prize draw, the following additional conditions will apply: Ensure that you are not infringing anyone else's rights; you must have taken the photo and obtained permission to publish the photo from everyone shown in the photo. Furthermore (as for all contributions), all illegal content is prohibited, especially content that is pornographic, promotes racism or is degrading to people. You will be held personally liable for any violations in contradiction of these rules.

Which rights of use do we require?

By posting a photo, you agree to consent that we can publish the photo including your name.

Your photo will only be used by us in conjunction with the prize draw. However, you are aware and agree that the posted photos and texts may also be discussed and linked to in social media via the Vienna Tourist Board and third parties.

The VTB reserves the right not to publish submitted contributions or to publish them with modifications or cuts, insofar as this does not curtail their sense and meaning.
