Tanzquartier Wien

The Tanzquartier Wien (TQW) - the center for contemporary dance and performance - puts on acts in its three studios from October to June and Hall G in the MuseumsQuartier from October to April. Dance productions and performances by national and international artists, companies and dance professionals can be experienced. A wide range of formats are shown. The TQW doesn't shy away from risk or experiment. The areas of training, rehearsal and research are also covered in depth.

Program highlights 2022/23

The 2022/23 season includes products by the Austrians Florentina Holzinger (Ophelia’s Got Talent), Doris Uhlich (a performative installation on the topic of slime in the MAK Hall of Columns), Michael Turinsky (Soiled), as well as Philipp Gehmacher and Katalin Erdödi (Together the Parts).

Among the international artists: In Islands, an archaich-futuristic choreography for 13 dancers of the Swedish dance company Cullberg, Jefta van Dinther leads audiences to a place beyond time and space. The Swiss choreographer Alexandra Bachzetsis puts on two group pieces (Chasing A Ghost, Obscene).

The studio complex of the Tanzquartier Wien performing arts center is home to three dance studios and a public library. The online media center contains over 500 recordings of performances and contemporary dance pieces.
