The world's largest festival for contemporary dance and performance
From July 9 to August 9, 2026, the city will once again be filled with the excitement of dance: Vienna will serve as Europe’s hub for contemporary dance. ImPulsTanz brings together international stars, influential choreographers, and exciting newcomers - from world premieres and Austrian premieres to acclaimed productions at select theaters and museums in Vienna.

Around 240 workshops and research projects invite beginners and professionals of all ages to the Arsenal to dance ballet, jazz, voguing, modern dance, hip-hop, and much more.
Furthermore, as every year, free Public Moves - outdoor dance classes - will be offered in Vienna and throughout Austria.
ImPulsTanz Soçial, featuring live concerts and DJ sets, awaits visitors in the Festival Lounge in the Burgtheater Vestibül.
To conclude the festival, large festival parties will take place on August 7 and 8, 2026, in the Arkadenhof of Vienna City Hall.
