Disney’s Beauty and the Beast tells the story of beautiful Belle and the prince, who has been turned into a beast by a witch’s curse. Only when he finds true love can the spell be broken. The musical blends emotion with humor. It is full of magic, wit and Disney enchantment, and delights every generation (recommended for ages 6 and up).

An international musical phenomenon
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is one of the most successful musicals worldwide – the original production ran on Broadway for more than 13 years straight. More than 35 million people in over 40 countries have seen the hit musical. The London production won the Laurence Olivier Award® for Best Musical. The musical adaptation is based on the world-famous Disney animated film.
The music is by eight-time Academy Award® winner and Tony Award® winner Alan Menken (Disney’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “Sister Act”, Disne’s “The Little Mermaid”...), with lyrics by Academy Award® winner Howard Ashman and Emmy®, Grammy®, Academy Award® and Tony Award® winner Sir Tim Rice.

Creative team from the original production come to Vienna
Members of the Tony Award®-winning original creative team are leading the new Vienna staging, including composer Alan Menken, lyricist Sir Tim Rice, book writer Linda Woolverton, director and choreographer Matt West, scenic designer Stanley A. Meyer, costume designer Ann Hould-Ward and lighting designer Natasha Katz. Together, they are bringing a new version of the Disney classic to the stage.
