Petr Popelka, Chief Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker since 2024, is deeply committed to chamber music. The programme for the concert celebrating Arnold Schönberg’s birthday features Mozart’s "Dissonance Quartet". This piece, often cited by Schönberg, is complemented by his own Opus 10, whose final movement evokes the "air of another planet" through the addition of a vocal part. Christina Bock also performs the world premiere of Petr Popelka’s composition "Dunkelsang" with Popelka himself playing the piano.
