Life on Mars (and other Planets)

SciFi im Park is THE science fiction film festival in Vienna! Since 2007, it has been delighting local residents, park visitors, and fans of sci-fi B-movies with free admission at Bruno-Kreisky-Park in Margareten!
This year’s theme is “Life on Mars (and Other Planets)!” 
The films at this year’s open-air festival explore real and fictional planets as well as the journey to them. Sometimes the focus is specifically on space travel itself (there and/or back), but often it’s also about social utopias or dystopias, as well as socially critical visions at the boundaries of technology, science, and imagination. Travel will continue to evolve in the future. But what might that look like? And which planets are well-suited for exploration and development—and even for space tourism? Or is escaping Earth the very reason for leaving our own planet and exploring others? Over six evenings, CiFiimPark presents possible answers drawn from the last six decades of science fiction film history.
