Let’s celebrate together during the anniversary weekend - Open House and free admission at all locations: Albertina, Albertina modern, and Albertina Klosterneuburg
To mark its 250th anniversary, the Albertina invites visitors to rediscover the diversity of all three locations on 4 and 5 July 2026. With a total of 250 free art educational activities, the museum is making a strong commitment to cultural participation and opening its collections and exhibitions to visitors of all ages.

An anniversary of this scale calls for a very special birthday cake: On Saturday, 4 July, at 10 a.m., Director General Ralph Gleis will cut a custom-made Sacher cake created especially for the Albertina’s 250th anniversary on the Bastion terrace. The cake will then be distributed to visitors while supplies last.
Another highlight will take place on Sunday, 5 July, at 2 p.m.: In a “Processional Paper Performance with Masks and Costumes” by Tone Fink, 70 participants wearing paper costumes and masks designed by him will walk from the Albertina to the Albertina modern and back.
To complement the celebrations, enjoy specialty coffee, pizza, ice cream, and chilled drinks.
