About the Event
This highlight of Vienna's drag scene is an absolute must-see for all lovers of drag art and queer culture.
The Vienna Drag Festival will take place over six days, from October 13 to 18, 2026, at four venues. More than 30 Viennese drag artists will send a strong, positive message for the Viennese drag scene and showcase just how professional and dedicated these artists are. Drag in all its diversity: from high-energy lip-syncs and live punk singing to hilariously funny comedy, sizzling dance performances, and colorful makeup.
The popular shows “The Dutzi and Athene Show,” “High Society,” and the legendary “Miss*ter Vienna Drag Festival Pageant” return to the Dschungel Wien at the MQ. The shows will be hosted by Grazia Patricia, Dutzi Ijsenhower, Starlett Schpamina Schpumante, and Athene Atlas, the “Godmother of Vienna’s Drag Underground.”

The shows are complemented by workshops that offer deeper insights into the art form:
A drag workshop explores the history and evolution of Vienna’s drag scene over the past 40 years, including hands-on activities where participants can pick up a brush and lipstick themselves.
A voguing workshop explores the background of Madonna’s song “Vogue” as well as the origins of ballroom culture - including hands-on dance practice.
The festival wraps up with an after-party brunch hosted by queens, kings, and quings - the perfect way to sober up properly after a long night.
