Vienna’s 600 hectares of vineyards and about 140 vintners in the areas around Kahlenberg, Nussberg, Bisamberg, and Mauer, where the Danube and the proximity of the Vienna Woods provide optimal climatic conditions, are unique among major cities. The Vienna Wine Hiking Day is held every year in the autumn. The wine landscape can be hiked on a total of four routes. At many points along the way, Viennese vintners offer tastings from cellar and kitchen.
