As the days grow shorter and Burgenland starts to glow with Christmas lights, a time full of magic begins. This year, under the banner of Winterwunder Burgenland (Burgenland Winter Wonderland), the most beautiful Advent events will be brought together for the very first time into one unforgettable experience. From festively decorated castle gardens to romantic lanes lined with wine cellars. At the heart of it all is the “Krippenzauber am See” (Nativity Magic by the Lake) on the Mörbisch Lake Stage.

After its successful debut in 2024, Winterwunder Mörbisch continues to grow. From November 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026, the world’s largest Christmas nativity scene, nestled in an atmospheric Christmas village, will enchant visitors. A new feature is the greater integration of the lakeside area, further highlighting the unique location. Regional delicacies, a varied children’s program with magic shows, musical highlights and the impressive nativity scene with regular projection shows make Mörbisch a major attraction during Advent in Burgenland.

Advent wonders across the region

The Winterwunder magic actually stretches across the entire region. Among the numerous atmospheric advent markets are the Ruster Advent Mile, the Pannonian Advent at Forchtenstein Castle and Lackenbach Castle, as well as markets at Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt, the Heiligenbrunn wine cellar lane in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, at Tabor Castle, and at the Medieval Christmas Market in Stadtschlaining.
