Vintage Vienna

Vintage clothing is booming. The younger generation in particular is increasingly going for second-hand fashion for the sake of sustainability. Vienna's vintage shops look like trendy concept stores. The range of fashion is curated and offers selected pieces.

Pearl-embroidered Art Nouveau and Charleston dresses can be found at Vintage Flo, as can designer fashion from the 1980s. The shop in the trendy Freihausviertel has developed into a real place of pilgrimage for nostalgic fashion-lovers. This is provided by about 5,000 items of clothing - of top quality and originality. A fact that also makes Vintage Flo a sought-after supplier for theatre plays, films and TV productions. Even international top designers get their inspiration here - from Stella Mc Cartney to Marc Jacobs.

Bocca Lupo is the place to go for a rummage. The large shop in Vienna city center serves up finds from luxury houses such as Chanel, Gucci and Hermès. Shoe lovers get their money's worth with refined pieces by Christian Louboutin or Manolo Blahnik.

The vintage store Das neue Schwarz from Berlin has opened an outlet just around the corner. Very special pieces ranging from Martin Margiela to Balenciaga can be found in the stylish ambience.

For second-hand, name-brand designers from Chanel to Prada, visit the vintage boutique Silvia Milano in Vienna's city center. You'll find luxury items here to suit every taste.

The period of time covered at Polyklamott ranges from the Sixties to the Nineties. The focus here is not on the elegance of expensive designer fashion of days gone by. Everything here revolves around really trendy and sometimes gaudy T-shirts, sweaters, dresses or pants - including for men.And Polyklamott also offers new pieces by young, mostly Viennese designers.

The offering at Bootik 54 is similar. The two directly adjacent stores offer a colorful mix of European and American vintage fashion, bags, jewelry and accessories. An absolutely ideal place for women and men to have a rummage.

Wolfmich, on Gumpendorfer Strasse, offers a mix of designer fashion and casual fashion. Many pieces from the 1980s and 1990s can be found in this cool shop, with the offering for men being particularly extensive. Wolfmich has made a name for itself far beyond the borders of Austria.

The vintage store Burggasse 24 also opts less for design brands than for hip and affordable second-hand fashion. The shop is reminiscent of a concept store – the clothing is appealingly presented in tall, light-drenched rooms. Women and men will find what they’re looking for here as well.

"Kleider gehen um" is the name of a stylish vintage shop in the 6th district. Just as stylish and trendy is the fashion that is sold here. The focus is on the period from 1960 to 1999. Many pieces from the 1980s can be seen on the website.

Fräulein Kleidsam in the hip Gumpendorfer Strasse offers vintage fashion from the 1920s to 1980s. From evening wear to hats to chic shoes, the tastefully-selected assortment draws people into this delightful little shop.

A pretty store with vintage fashion ranging from everyday to extravagant from the 1940s to 1960s is Magic Oyster on Esterházygasse in the 6th district. The offer is augmented with the latest fashion design.
